Noora's Music Journey
Noora started singing and performing in her local area when she was just eight years old. When she was 15, she signed a recording contract with Warner Music. She then began working with a production team called Stargate (production team) to create her first album. This album's success helped Stargate become famous international R&B and Soul music producers.
First Albums and Challenges
Noora's first album, Curious, came out in 1999. It was one of the first important R&B albums from Scandinavia. Her song "Need You" was played a lot on MTV's "The Lick." Curious also did very well in Japan, selling over 40,000 copies.
It took five years for her second album, All I Am, to be released in 2004. This delay happened because Noora was diagnosed with tuberculosis. The album included more songs that she helped write, working with songwriters from the US and UK. She also sang on Madcon's 2007 album So Dark the Con of Man. Noora also appeared on some songs by Tommy Tee. She even played the role of Maria Magdalen in a large outdoor show of Jesus Christ Superstar.
Recent Music and Eurovision
Her most recent album, Soul Deep, was released in Norway in March 2009. It received excellent reviews and was highly praised by Norway's newspaper Verdens Gang. This album was recorded in San Jose, California. It featured local blues and soul musicians. Members of the band Little Charlie & The Nightcats also played on it. The album's producer was Kid Andersen, a talented Norwegian guitar player. Soul Deep was released outside Norway in 2010. The first single from the album became available in April or May 2010 in countries like Belgium, Netherlands, and Luxembourg.
In March 2011, Noora took part in the Norwegian competition to choose a song for the Eurovision Song Contest 2011. She performed the song "Gone with the Wind" in the Melodi Grand Prix.
