The Noordenveld Water Board

Noordenveld was also the name of a former "Water Board." A Water Board is a special group that manages water in an area. They make sure there is enough clean water and protect against floods. The Noordenveld Water Board had its main office in Roden.

History of the Water Board

The Noordenveld Water Board was created by combining several smaller water boards. These included groups like the Water Board of Leutingewolde, which started in 1866. Other boards joined later, such as De Zuidermaden and De Weehorst.

In 1995, the Noordenveld Water Board joined a larger group. This new group is called Water Board Noorderzijlvest. Its main office is in a place called Onderdendam.
