Norah Irene Flatley (born March 10, 2000) is an American artistic gymnast. She was born in San Diego, California. Norah is known for her strong performances on the balance beam. She won the junior balance beam title at the 2014 Pacific Rim Gymnastics Championships. She also competed for the UCLA Bruins and the Arkansas Razorbacks college teams.

Norah's Early Life in Gymnastics
Norah Flatley was born on March 10, 2000. Her parents are Terrence Flatley and Ann McKenzie. She is the youngest of four children.
Norah's older sister, Anna, was also a gymnast. When Norah was four, she wanted to join her sister. She started gymnastics classes at Salto Gymnastics in Wisconsin.
Norah was a natural talent. She joined the National TOPs teams in 2007 and 2009. In 2010, she became the Level 8 State (Wisconsin) and Regional champion.
Later in 2010, her family moved to Cumming, Iowa. This move allowed her to train with Liang Chow. He was the coach of Olympic champion Shawn Johnson. In 2011, Norah became the Level 9 Regional Champion. At her first Level 9 Western Championships, she won the all-around title. She also won on balance beam and floor exercise.
Norah's Gymnastics Journey
Competing at Level 10
Norah moved up to Level 10 in 2012. She won the State championship. She placed second at the Regionals.
In May, she competed in her first J.O. Nationals in Hampton, Virginia. She tied for third place in the all-around. The all-around score combines points from all events. Norah won the balance beam title with a score of 9.725.
Junior Elite Competitions: 2013–2015
In 2013, Norah became a Junior International Elite gymnast. This meant she could compete at a higher national level. She competed at the 2013 U.S. Classic in Chicago. She placed fourth in the all-around. She won a gold medal on the balance beam. Her beam score of 15.2 was the highest of the whole competition.
At the 2013 U.S. National Gymnastics Championships, Norah placed fifth in the all-around. She won a silver medal on the balance beam. Because of her strong results, she joined the junior national team.
Norah competed internationally for the first time in 2014. This was at the City of Jesolo Trophy in Jesolo, Italy. She helped the USA team win a gold medal. She placed third in the all-around individually. She also won a gold medal on the balance beam.
Next, she competed at the 2014 Pacific Rim Gymnastics Championships in Canada. There, she won team gold and another gold on the balance beam. At the 2014 U.S. Classic, Norah placed third in the all-around. In August, she competed at the 2014 U.S. National Gymnastics Championships. She finished third in the all-around. She also won a silver medal on the uneven bars. She placed fourth on the balance beam.
In 2015, Norah competed her last year as a Junior International Elite. At the 2015 City of Jesolo Trophy, she helped the USA team win first place. She won gold on balance beam. She also won silver in the all-around and on the uneven bars. Due to a foot injury, Norah missed the other big competitions that year.
On October 7, 2015, Norah shared exciting news. She announced she would join the UCLA Bruins gymnastics team for college.
Retiring from Elite Gymnastics
Norah was planning to compete as a Senior International gymnast in 2016. However, she had to withdraw from all competitions due to an injury. On July 21, 2017, she announced she was retiring from elite gymnastics. She planned to move back to Level 10 for the 2018 season.
Norah's College Gymnastics Career
Joining the UCLA Bruins: 2018–2019
In the fall of 2018, Norah started college at the University of California, Los Angeles. She joined the gymnastics team.
As a freshman, Norah competed on uneven bars and balance beam in every meet. She helped her team finish third at the 2019 NCAA Championships. She scored well on beam and bars.
The 2019–2020 Season
Norah regularly competed on uneven bars, balance beam, and floor exercise. The season was cut short because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The 2020–2021 Season
Norah had an ankle injury while warming up for a meet. This kept her from competing until the end of the season. She returned for the Pac-12 Championship on uneven bars. She also competed on uneven bars and balance beam at the regional championships.
The 2021–2022 Season
Norah recovered from her ankle injury. She competed in at least three events in every regular season meet. She also competed in the all-around six times.
At the regional finals, Norah competed only on vault and uneven bars. UCLA did not qualify for the national championships as a team. However, Norah's all-around score from the regional semifinals allowed her to go to nationals as an individual.
At the national championships, Norah placed seventh in the all-around. She placed fourth on the balance beam.
Moving to Arkansas: 2022–2023
After the 2022 National Championships, Norah decided to transfer. She had an extra year of college eligibility because of the COVID-19 pandemic. On May 31, 2022, it was announced that Norah would join the Arkansas Razorbacks team. She reunited with her former UCLA teammate, Kyla Ross, who was an assistant coach there.
Norah made her debut for Arkansas on January 7, 2023. She competed on vault, uneven bars, and balance beam. She helped Arkansas win their meet. Norah posted the highest score on uneven bars. She also had the co-highest score on vault.
After the 2023 SEC Championship, she earned All-SEC honors. This was for her performances on vault, floor, and in the all-around.
Norah's Personal Life
Norah Flatley is in a relationship with Atlanta United FC soccer player Justin Garces. They have been together since November 2018.
