Norah Irene Flatley is an amazing American gymnast. She was born on March 10, 2000, in San Diego, California. Norah is famous for winning a gold medal on the balance beam at the 2014 Pacific Rim Championships as a junior. She also competed for the UCLA Bruins and the Arkansas Razorbacks college gymnastics teams.

Norah's Early Life
Norah Flatley was born on March 10, 2000, in San Diego, California. She is the youngest of four children. Norah's older sister, Anna, was also a gymnast. When Norah was just four years old, she wanted to join her sister in gymnastics.
She started taking classes at Salto Gymnastics in Wisconsin. Norah was naturally talented. She joined the National TOPs teams in 2007 and 2009. In 2010, she became the Level 8 State and Regional champion for her age group.
In the summer of 2010, Norah's family moved to Cumming, Iowa. This move allowed her to train with Liang Chow. He was the coach of Olympic champion Shawn Johnson. A year later, in 2011, Norah became the Level 9 Regional Champion. At her first Level 9 Western Championships, at age eleven, she won the individual all-around title. She also won gold medals on the balance beam and floor exercise.
Norah's Gymnastics Journey
Competing at Level 10
Norah moved up to Level 10 for the 2012 gymnastics season. She became the State champion and placed second at Regionals. In May, she competed in her first J.O. Nationals in Hampton, Virginia. She tied for third place in the all-around competition. Norah also won the balance beam title with a score of 9.725.
Junior Elite Competitions: 2013–2015
Norah became a Junior International Elite gymnast in 2013. She competed at the 2013 U.S. Classic in Chicago. She placed fourth in the all-around and won a gold medal on the balance beam. Her balance beam score of 15.2 was the highest at the meet for both junior and senior gymnasts.
At the 2013 U.S. National Gymnastics Championships, Norah finished fifth in the all-around. She won a silver medal on the balance beam, just behind Bailie Key. Because of her great performance, she was named to the junior national team.
Norah competed internationally for the first time at the 2014 City of Jesolo Trophy in Jesolo, Italy. She helped Team USA win the gold medal. Individually, she placed third in the all-around. She also won a gold medal on the balance beam.
Next, she competed at the Pacific Rim Championships in April in Richmond, Canada. There, she won team gold and another gold medal on the balance beam. At the 2014 U.S. Classic, Norah placed third in the all-around. In August, she competed at the National Championships. She finished third in the all-around. She also won a silver medal on the uneven bars and placed fourth on the balance beam.
Norah competed her last year as a Junior International Elite in 2015. At the 2015 City of Jesolo Trophy, she helped the USA team finish first. She won gold on balance beam and silver in the all-around and on the uneven bars. Due to a foot injury, Norah missed the U.S. Classic and the U.S. National Championships.
On October 7, 2015, Norah announced that she would join the UCLA Bruins gymnastics program after high school.
Stepping Away from Elite Gymnastics
Norah was planning to make her Senior International debut in 2016. However, she had to withdraw from all competitions due to an injury. On July 21, 2017, she announced that she was retiring from elite gymnastics. She decided to move down to Level 10 for the 2018 season.
College Gymnastics Career
Joining the UCLA Bruins
In the fall of 2018, Norah began attending the University of California, Los Angeles. She joined the gymnastics team.
During her first year, Norah competed on the uneven bars and balance beam in every meet. She was named the Pac-12 Freshman of the Week on February 26. She helped her team finish third at the 2019 NCAA Championships. She scored 9.8875 on beam and 9.9 on bars.
Seasons at UCLA: 2019–2022
In the 2019–2020 season, Norah regularly competed on uneven bars, balance beam, and floor exercise. This season was cut short because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
For the 2020–2021 season, Norah suffered an ankle injury. This happened while warming up for UCLA's first meet. She was out of competition until the postseason. She returned for the Pac-12 Championship, scoring 9.875 on uneven bars. She competed on uneven bars and balance beam at the regional championships. However, UCLA did not qualify for nationals that year.
In the 2021–2022 season, Norah was fully recovered. She competed in at least three events during every regular season meet. She also competed in the all-around six times. At the regional finals, Norah competed only on vault and uneven bars. UCLA did not qualify for the national championships as a team. However, Norah's all-around score from the regional semifinals qualified her to nationals as an individual. At the national championships, Norah placed seventh in the all-around. She also placed fourth on the balance beam with a score of 9.9375.
Moving to Arkansas
After the 2022 National Championships, Norah decided to transfer to a new team. She had an extra year of college eligibility because of the COVID-19 pandemic. On May 31, 2022, it was announced that Norah would join the Arkansas Razorbacks gymnastics team. This reunited her with her former UCLA teammate, Kyla Ross, who was an assistant coach there.
Norah made her debut for Arkansas on January 7, 2023. She competed on vault, uneven bars, and balance beam. She helped Arkansas win the meet. Norah also had the highest score on uneven bars and tied for the highest score on vault. After the 2023 SEC Championship, she received All-SEC honors for vault, floor, and all-around.

Norah Flatley has been in a relationship with Atlanta United FC soccer player Justin Garces since November 2018.
