Website Nordic Valley's Homepage

Nordic Valley is a fun local ski area located in Nordic Valley, Utah, in the United States. It was once known as Wolf Creek Utah Ski Resort. Before June 29, 2005, it was simply called Nordic Valley. On that date, a nearby golf resort, Wolf Creek Golf Resort, bought the ski area.

This resort is famous for its affordable tickets. It's a great spot for kids and beginners to learn how to ski or snowboard. Many people say Nordic Valley offers "the least expensive skiing and riding in Utah."

Exploring Nordic Valley's Slopes

Nordic Valley has different areas for all skill levels. On the left side, there's a big gentle slope perfect for beginners. On the right, you'll find steeper and longer runs for more experienced skiers. A special terrain park is located between these two areas.

Lifts and Trails for Everyone

The ski area has several chairlifts to take you up the mountain.

  • The Bridger is a short double chairlift.
  • The Crockett is a newer, longer triple chairlift. Both of these lifts take you to the beginner slope and the terrain park.
  • The Apollo is a longer double chairlift. It goes up the middle of the mountain and gives you access to most of the resort's trails. It also reaches the beginner slope and terrain park.
  • The Nordic Express is a fast six-person chairlift. You can get to it from the Apollo lift. This lift takes you to the most challenging trails at the resort.
  • For the very first-time skiers, there's a short surface lift called the Magic Carpet. It's super easy to use!

Bigger Beginner Area and Terrain Park

When the Crockett Triple Chair was built, it made the beginner slope much larger. It also doubled the size of the terrain park! This new lift also made it easier to explore the wooded area north of the terrain park.

Snowmaking and Ski Season

Nordic Valley uses snowmaking machines to cover most of its trails. The snowmaking system was updated in 2006. This update made the snow much more reliable. Even though the resort is at a lower elevation, which means a shorter ski season than some other Utah resorts, the snowmaking helps create a good base for skiing for several months each year.

The Nordic Valley Community

The area around the ski resort is also known as Nordic Valley by the people who live there.
