Norris is a small community in Montana, United States. It's located in the northeastern part of Madison County. You can find Norris where two main roads meet: U.S. Route 287 and Montana Highway 84. Norris has an interesting past. In the 1860s, people found several places to mine for valuable minerals nearby. However, these mining efforts usually didn't last very long. A long time ago, a train line from the old Northern Pacific Railway used to end right here in Norris. That train line is not used anymore.

Norris is found in the northeastern part of Madison County. It's about 16 miles north of a town called Ennis. If you travel south from Three Forks on US-287, Norris is about 31 miles away. You can also reach Norris from Bozeman by taking MT-84 for about 36 miles to the west.

The area around Norris is quite hilly and often dry. People use this land for farming and raising animals. To the west, you can see the beautiful Tobacco Root Mountains. They make a great backdrop for the scenery.

Just a short distance, about 0.4 miles, east of Norris, you'll find the Norris Hot Springs. These are natural hot springs where people can relax. Also, about 2.5 miles east on Highway 84, there's an agricultural experiment station. This station is run by Montana State University - Bozeman. They do research there to help farmers.

The U.S. Census Bureau says that the Norris area covers about 0.34 square miles of land. A stream called Hot Springs Creek flows right through the community. This creek then flows east to join the Madison River near a place called Red Bluff.
