The North Branch Little River is a small river in southern Maine. It flows for about 9.8-mile (15.8 km) (about 15.8 kilometers). This river is a branch of the Little River. Both rivers are part of a bigger system called the Presumpscot River watershed. This watershed eventually carries water to Casco Bay, which is part of the huge Atlantic Ocean.

Where the River Flows

The North Branch Little River starts in the middle of a town called Standish. This town is located in Cumberland County. From its start, the river flows towards the east.

Journey to Gorham

As it continues its journey, the river crosses into another town. This town is called Gorham. The river keeps flowing east for a while.

Joining the Little River

After flowing east, the North Branch Little River turns. It then flows towards the southeast. Finally, it meets up with the main Little River. This meeting point is about 4.4 miles (7.1 km) (about 7.1 kilometers) upstream from where the Little River joins the Presumpscot River.
