The Buenie Picnic
The "Buenie Picnic" is a special event that has been held every year since 1929. It takes place on the Sunday of Labor Day weekend. The picnic is a fundraiser for the local Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.

After this, in 1973, the state of Iowa made it legal to play games like bingo and raffles for small stakes. This helped events like the Buenie Picnic continue.
