Where Does North Deer Creek Start and End?

North Deer Creek begins in Mercer County, Pennsylvania. Its source, or starting point, is near a place called Sunol. From there, the creek flows mostly towards the east.

After its journey, North Deer Creek meets and joins French Creek. This meeting point is located near the town of Carlton, Pennsylvania. French Creek then continues its path to eventually join the Allegheny River.

What is the North Deer Creek Watershed?

A watershed is like a giant bowl of land where all the rain and snow that falls collects and drains into a specific stream or river. The North Deer Creek watershed covers an area of about 18.70 square miles (48.4 square kilometers).

This area gets a good amount of rain each year, around 43.4 inches (110 centimeters). More than half of the land in this watershed, about 54%, is covered by forests. These forests are important because they help keep the water clean and provide homes for many animals. The average water temperature in the creek is about 8.23 degrees Celsius (46.81 degrees Fahrenheit).
