North Woolwich is an area in Woolwich in the London Borough of Newham, South East London. It lies on the northern, Essex side of the Thames but the area was long administered as part of Woolwich and Kent on the south bank. This arrangement was imposed in the aftermath of the Norman Conquest of England from 1066.
