Northfield is a small village located in northern Summit County, Ohio, in the United States. In 2020, about 3,541 people lived there. It is part of the larger Akron metropolitan area.

History of Northfield Village
A post office opened in Northfield in 1837. The village's name might have come from Northfield, Massachusetts. Another idea is that it was named because of its location in the northern part of Summit County.

MGM Northfield Park
MGM Northfield Park is a popular entertainment spot in the village. It's a "racino," which means it's a place where you can watch horse racing and also enjoy casino-style games.
This place first opened in 2013 as "The Rocksino." It had a Hard Rock Café and a large venue for shows. Later, in 2018, a company called MGM Growth Properties bought the property. Then, in 2019, MGM Resorts International took over running the place. They changed its name to MGM Northfield Park.
Sportsman Park History
Before MGM Northfield Park, there was a place called Sportsman Park. It was built in 1934 for greyhound dog racing. Later, it changed to midget car racing. In 1956, Sportsman Park was taken down. This made way for what we now know as Northfield Park and the racino.
