Norton is a small place in Yuma County, Arizona, in the United States. It's not an official town or city, but it's a known location. Norton is found in the northeast part of the San Cristobal Valley. It sits right south of a railroad line called the Roll Industrial Lead. This spot is about 315 feet (96 meters) above sea level.

Norton's Location and History

Norton is located in a desert area of Arizona. It's part of Yuma County, which is in the southwestern corner of the state. Long ago, in the early 1900s, Norton was an important stop. It was on the main road that connected two big cities: Yuma and Phoenix.

Life in Early Norton

Life in Norton was quite different a century ago. In 1920, records show that about 38 people lived in the area. This small community was known as the "Norton Precinct."

By 1923, a report described Norton as having a few ranch buildings. There was also a store that used to have a post office. However, by that time, the store was closed. The post office in Norton officially stopped operating in 1925.
