History of Norway
Norway was founded in 1891. This happened when a railroad line was built through the area. A post office opened in Norway the very next year, in 1892. The town was given its name to fit a special theme used by the railroad. Other towns along the same railroad line also have "Scandinavian" names, like Sweden, South Carolina and Denmark, South Carolina.
A historic building in the town is the Willow Consolidated High School. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2006. This means it's an important place that is protected for its history.
