Notasulga is a small town in the state of Alabama, USA. It is located in both Macon and Lee counties. In 2020, about 914 people lived there.
The part of Notasulga in Lee County is close to the Auburn Metropolitan Area. The town was officially formed in 1893. Its name comes from the Creek words noti sulgi, which means "many teeth." A famous author, Zora Neale Hurston, was born in Notasulga in 1891.

Notasulga's Location and Size
Notasulga is in the northern part of Macon County. It also stretches a bit into the western part of Lee County. You can find it at these coordinates: 32°33′39″N 85°40′3″W / 32.56083°N 85.66750°W.
The town covers a total area of about 36.6 square kilometers (about 14.1 square miles). Most of this area is land, with a small part being water. The center of Notasulga is on a raised area. Water from the town flows north into Sougahatchee Creek and south into Red Creek. Both of these creeks eventually join the Tallapoosa River.
