Nurul Islam Babul (Bengali: নুরুল ইসলাম বাবুল, 3 May 1946 – 13 July 2020) was a very successful Bangladeshi businessman. He was the person who started and led a big company called Jamuna Group. He passed away on 13 July 2020 after being in a hospital in Dhaka for a few days.

Early Life
Nurul Islam Babul was born in Nawabganj, Dhaka. His parents were Amjad Hossen and Jomila Khatun. He grew up in a Bengali Muslim family.
His Business Career
Nurul Islam Babul was well-known for creating the Jamuna Group. This group is a large collection of different businesses. He also started the famous Jamuna Future Park, which is a huge shopping mall and entertainment center.
Babul also owned a popular newspaper in Bangladesh called Jugantor. He began the Jamuna Group in the 1970s. Under his leadership, the group grew to include many different types of companies.
Personal Life
Nurul Islam Babul was married to Salma Islam. She is a member of the Jatiyo Sangshad, which is the parliament of Bangladesh. She belongs to the Jatiya Party.
Together, Nurul Islam Babul and Salma Islam had four children. Their names are Shamim Islam, Soniya Islam, Monika Islam, and Rozalin Islam.
In June 2020, Babul became sick with the coronavirus. This happened during the COVID-19 pandemic in Bangladesh. He was then taken to the Evercare Hospital in Dhaka for treatment.
Death
Nurul Islam Babul died on 13 July 2020. He was 74 years old. He passed away from problems caused by COVID-19. This happened at the Evercare Hospital in Dhaka during the COVID-19 pandemic in Bangladesh.
