Oak Hill is a city located in Davidson County, Tennessee. In 2010, about 4,529 people lived there. A very important building, the Tennessee Governor's Mansion, is also in Oak Hill. Even though the city is part of the larger Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, it still has its own local government.

A Look Back at Oak Hill's History

Back in the 1790s, a judge named John Overton started a horse farm in Oak Hill. It was called Travellers Rest. After World War II, many new people moved to Oak Hill. More homes were built, and the area grew quickly.

Oak Hill officially became a city in 1952. This happened just before the governments of Davidson County and Nashville joined together.
