Oakwood is a small village located in the countryside of New South Wales, Australia. It's part of the New England region, known for its rolling hills. You can find Oakwood about 19 kilometres (12 miles) northwest of a larger town called Inverell.

The village of Oakwood got its name from a place in England. It once had its own Post Office, which opened way back on April 16, 1883. However, this Post Office closed down in 1971.
