Oatka Creek Park is a cool place to visit in Monroe County, New York. It's part of the big park system there. You can find it near the middle of a town called Wheatland.

The park has clear boundaries. To the east, it's bordered by Union Street. On the north side, you'll see the Rochester & Southern Railroad tracks. Stewart Road forms the western and southern edges of the park. Just northeast of the park is a small village called Garbutt.

The main entrance to the park is at 9797 Union Street. This road leads you to the Oatka Lodge. The lodge is the only main building in the park. Most of the park is natural land, with old farm fields now growing wild.

About Oatka Creek Park

Oatka Creek Park is quite large, covering about 461 acres (1.86 square kilometers). It stretches along both sides of Oatka Creek for about one mile. The park is open every day. In summer, you can visit from 7 AM to 11 PM. Winter hours are a bit shorter.

Park Rules and Activities

When you visit, remember the "carry-in/carry-out" rule. This means you must take all your trash with you when you leave. This helps keep the park clean and beautiful for everyone.

The park is also a popular spot for cross-country running. It's the home course for two local school teams:

  • The Caledonia-Mumford Red Raiders
  • The Wheatland-Chili Wildcats
