Odeya Rush is an actress from Israel and America. She was born Odeya Rushinek on May 12, 1997. She is famous for her main roles in movies like The Giver (2014) and Goosebumps (2015). She also appeared in Lady Bird (2017) and Dumplin' (2018).

Early Life and Moving to America
Odeya Rush was born in Haifa, Israel. Her parents are Jewish. Her first language was Hebrew, and she also spoke Russian. Her name in Hebrew means "I will thank God." When she was eight years old, she enjoyed writing and performing plays in her hometown.
When Odeya was nine, her family moved to the United States. Her father got a job as a security consultant in Alabama. When she first arrived, Odeya did not know English. She only spoke Hebrew and Russian. She went to a Jewish school in Birmingham, Alabama. Later, she moved to Midland Park, New Jersey, and went to public school there.
In 2013, Odeya and her family moved to Los Angeles. She has six brothers. Four of them are younger than her, including two sets of twins. Her two older half-brothers live in Israel.
Her Career
Starting as a Model
Before she became an actress, Odeya started modeling when she was a child. She was discovered in the United States. She appeared in big ads for popular clothing brands. These included Polo Ralph Lauren, Gap, Tommy Hilfiger, and H&M.
She also worked on a summer ad campaign in 2018. This was for a special collection between FILA and Urban Outfitters.
Becoming an Actress
Odeya's first acting jobs were on TV shows in 2010. She was in an episode of Law & Order: Special Victims Unit called "Branded." She also appeared in Curb Your Enthusiasm in an episode called "Mister Softee."
Her first movie role was in 2012. She played Joni Jerome in the Disney film The Odd Life of Timothy Green. Joni was the best friend of the main character, Timothy.
In 2014, Odeya co-starred in the science fiction movie The Giver. This movie was based on a famous book by Lois Lowry. Odeya played a character named Fiona. The film also featured well-known actors like Jeff Bridges and Meryl Streep.
In 2015, Odeya played Ashley Burwood in the comedy movie See You in Valhalla. Her next big role was the main female character in Goosebumps. This movie was based on the very popular book series by R. L. Stine. Odeya played Hannah Fairchild, who was the "daughter" of R. L. Stine, played by Jack Black. In the movie, she teamed up with her neighbor to fight the Goosebumps monsters.
In 2017, Odeya had a supporting role in Greta Gerwig's movie Lady Bird. This film was very popular and was nominated for many awards, including Best Picture at the Academy Awards. In the same year, she also starred in The Bachelors with J. K. Simmons.
In 2018, she appeared in Dumplin', a movie about a beauty pageant. In 2019, she was in the holiday movie Let It Snow.
More recently, in 2021, Odeya played the main role in an Israeli TV drama series called Baalat HaChalomot. In 2022, she was in the comedy-drama film Cha Cha Real Smooth and the horror film Umma. Her most recent film was Dangerous Waters in 2023.
