Omari Jahi Palmer (born May 17, 1994) is an American professional wrestler. He is known by his ring name Oddyssey. He was also known as Odyssey Jones during his time in WWE from 2019 to 2024.

Early Life and Sports

Omari Jahi Palmer was born in Brooklyn, New York. He grew up in Coram, New York. When he was in high school, he was a talented athlete. He played football, basketball, and lacrosse. He also competed in wrestling.

In 2012, Omari went to Syracuse University. He studied sociology there. He also played football for the Syracuse Orange team. He was an offensive guard and played in 36 games. Sadly, he got a leg injury in 2016 during his senior year.

Becoming a Professional Wrestler

In June 2018, Omari tried out for WWE. WWE is a very famous professional wrestling company. In February 2019, WWE hired him. He then went to the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, Florida to train. This is where new wrestlers learn all their moves.

In May 2019, Omari showed how strong he was. He lifted 800 lb (363 kg) in a trap bar deadlift. This set a new record at the WWE Performance Center. He beat the old record of 775 lb (352 kg).

His very first wrestling match was on November 7, 2019. He wrestled as Omari Palmer and lost to Dexter Lumis. This match was at a special event called a house show. He wrestled a few more matches before taking a break for over a year.

Odyssey Jones Debuts

Omari came back to wrestling in July 2021. He had a new ring name: "Odyssey Jones." He wrestled in some matches that were not shown on TV. His first TV match was on July 6, 2021. He won against Grayson Waller on WWE 205 Live.

Soon after, he wrestled on WWE NXT. He won his first NXT match against Andre Chase. This was part of the WWE NXT Breakout Tournament. He kept winning and made it to the finals. But he lost to Carmelo Hayes in the final match.

For the rest of 2021, Jones wrestled on NXT. He had exciting matches against other wrestlers. In January 2022, he got a serious injury. He hurt his patellar tendon during a match. He needed surgery to fix it.

Return to the Ring

Odyssey Jones returned to NXT on October 25, 2022. He made his wrestling comeback the next week. He won his match against Javier Bernal.

In the 2023 WWE Draft, Jones was chosen to join the Raw team. This is one of WWE's main shows. In September 2023, he traveled to Hyderabad, India. He wrestled at an event called Superstar Spectacle. He lost his match to Bron Breakker.

In the 2024 WWE Draft, Jones was again chosen for the Raw team. He started wrestling on Raw in August 2024. He began a storyline with a famous wrestling group called The New Day.

In September 2024, Odyssey Jones left WWE. He later stated that he was innocent of any wrongdoing and was taking legal action. He also said he was ready to wrestle again.

Wrestling Style

Odyssey Jones is known for his "powerhouse" wrestling style. This means he uses his great strength to win matches. His special moves include a powerful sidewalk slam. He also uses a falling powerslam and a diving splash.

He often wears orange and blue wrestling gear. These colors are a nod to the Syracuse Orange team. His fans sometimes call him the "Future Favorite."
