Ogden Mills & Ruth Livingston Mills State Park is a beautiful state park in Staatsburg, New York. It covers about 750 acres (3.0 km²) of land. This park is located in Dutchess County, New York. You can find it off U.S. Route 9, between the towns of Rhinebeck and Hyde Park. The park sits right next to the Hudson River on its western side.
This park is actually part of a larger area called Mills-Norrie State Park. This bigger park is about 988 acres (4.0 km²) in total. It includes both Ogden Mills & Ruth Livingston Mills State Park and Margaret Lewis Norrie State Park.
The main attraction here is the Staatsburgh State Historic Site. This is a huge mansion designed in the Beaux-Arts style. It was built between 1895 and 1896 during a time called the Gilded Age. The mansion has 65 rooms, 14 bathrooms, and 23 fireplaces. You can take tours of the furnished house. The park also offers many fun activities. You can explore trails, stay in cabins or tent sites, and even go fishing. There are picnic areas, recreation programs, and a restaurant. In winter, you can enjoy cross-country skiing and sledding.
