Herminio Jose Lualhati "Ogie" Alcasid Jr. (born August 27, 1967) is a famous Filipino actor, singer, and songwriter. He is also a comedian, director, and producer. Ogie is well-known for writing many popular songs and working with other music artists.

He has been in many movies and TV shows. Some of his most famous TV roles were in Tropang Trumpo (1994–1995) and Bubble Gang (1995–2013). He also hosted and performed on SOP (1997–2010) and ASAP (2017–present). Ogie is married to fellow singer Regine Velasquez, and they have a son together.

Ogie's Early Career

Ogie Alcasid started his journey in music as a member of a singing group called Kundirana in 1984. His first music album came out in 1989. Around the same time, he also began his acting career.

His first movie was Feel Na Feel, released in 1990. In 1991, he starred in Pitong Gamol, which was his first movie with Viva Films.

Ogie's TV Shows

Ogie's television career began in 1992 as a host for a comedy show called Small Brothers on ABS-CBN. He then appeared in other comedy shows like Mana Mana and Tropang Trumpo. He was also a long-time cast member of the popular comedy show Bubble Gang from 1995 to 2013.

Besides comedy, Ogie also hosted game shows. He hosted Game Na Game Na! in 1995 and the Philippine version of Family Feud in 2001. He was also a judge on Pinoy Idol.

In 2013, Ogie moved to TV5, where he hosted The Mega and the Songwriter. In 2016, he returned to ABS-CBN. Since then, he has been a judge on Tawag ng Tanghalan within It's Showtime and Your Face Sounds Familiar. He is also a main performer on ASAP Natin 'To.

Ogie Alcasid released his first album, Ogie Alcasid, in 1989. This album quickly became a "gold record," meaning it sold a lot of copies! His first single, "Nandito Ako" ("I Am Here"), was even named "Song of the Year" by a local radio station.

Since then, Ogie has released many albums, including a Christmas album and live albums. He has earned many awards for his music, including twelve gold records and several platinum records. This shows how popular his songs are!

On December 22, 2010, Ogie married famous singer Regine Velasquez. They have a son named Nathaniel James, also known as Nate, who was born in 2011. Nate finished primary school in 2024.

Ogie Alcasid is an Evangelical Christian. His cousin is the Filipino comedian Ai-Ai delas Alas.
