The Okeechobee Music and Arts Festival is an annual event. It lasts for four days. During this time, you can enjoy many kinds of music. There are also lots of art displays to see. The festival is put on by a company called Soundslinger, LLC. It happens every year at Sunshine Grove. This large area is about 600 acres in size.

Festival History

The very first Okeechobee Music and Arts Festival happened from March 4 to March 6, 2016. It was a huge success right away. About 32,000 people came to enjoy the music and art. Famous artists like Bassnectar, Skrillex, Kendrick Lamar, and Mumford & Sons performed.

Who Started It?

The festival was started by Soundslinger, LLC. This company was founded by Steve Sybesma and Paul Peck. They had experience with other big music events. They worked with a team of producers. These producers had put on many major festivals before.

In late 2016, Steve Sybesma and Paul Peck left the company. Kevin Collinsworth then became the new leader. Soundslinger has offices in Miami and New York City.

A Short Break

In November 2018, the festival organizers made an announcement. They said that Okeechobee would not happen in 2019. But don't worry! The festival returned in March 2020. It has been held every year since then. It continues to be a popular event for music and art lovers.
