Oleg Nikolayevich Karavaichuk (Russian: Оле́г Никола́евич Каравайчу́к; born December 28, 1927 – died June 13, 2016) was a famous composer from Russia. He wrote music for many movies and plays. He was known for his unique style and interesting personality.

Early Life and Music Journey

Oleg Karavaichuk was born in Kyiv, Ukraine, on December 28, 1927. His father was a violinist. Oleg started composing music when he was very young. He loved music from the start.

Learning Music at the Conservatory

Oleg went to the School of Music at the Leningrad State Conservatory. This was a very important music school. He was lucky to learn from famous musicians like Dmitri Shostakovich and Sviatoslav Richter. He finished his studies there in 1945.

In 1943, when he was still a student, Oleg played in a special concert. This concert celebrated the Conservatory's 80th birthday in Tashkent. From 1945 to 1951, he continued to study piano at the Leningrad State Conservatory. His teacher was Samarii Savshinsky.
