Oliver and the Artful Dodger is an animated TV movie from 1972. It continues the story from Charles Dickens' famous book, Oliver Twist. This movie was shown on TV as part of The ABC Saturday Superstar Movie. It first aired in two parts on October 21 and 28, 1972.
The Story of the Movie
The movie takes place in 1860. Mr. Brownlow, who adopted Oliver, passes away. His sneaky nephew, Sniperly, tries to steal all of Mr. Brownlow's money. It's up to Oliver to stop him and save the fortune!
Meanwhile, the Artful Dodger, a clever young pickpocket from the original story, is busy helping kids. He works to free children from tough workhouses, where they are forced to labor. The story follows Oliver and the Artful Dodger as they face challenges and try to do what's right.
