Olivet is a small town in Hutchinson County, South Dakota, in the United States. It's also the main town, or county seat, for Hutchinson County. In 2020, about 64 people lived there.

History of Olivet
Olivet was started in 1871. It was chosen to be the main town for the county, which is called the county seat. The town got its name from Olivet, Michigan. This was where the first people who settled here came from.
At first, the county courts were held in a Methodist church. Later, in 1881, a special building was built just for the courthouse.

Olivet is a small town, covering about 0.52 square kilometers (0.20 square miles) of land. It doesn't have any water within its borders.
The town is located north of a place called Lonetree Creek. It also sits on the west side of the James River.
