Ollastra (which is Ollasta in the local Sardinian language) is a small town in Italy. It is a comune, which is like a municipality or local government area. Ollastra is located on the island of Sardinia, which is a region of Italy.
This town is part of the Province of Oristano. It is about 90 kilometers (56 miles) northwest of Cagliari, which is the capital city of Sardinia. Ollastra is also about 14 kilometers (9 miles) northeast of the city of Oristano.

Ollastra's Name Change
For a period of time, Ollastra was known by a different name. From 1928 to 1946, it was a frazione (a smaller part) of the nearby town of Simaxis. Because of this, it was called Ollastra Simaxis. In 1991, the town officially changed its name back to simply Ollastra.
