Starting at Louisiana Tech

He also focused on his studies and earned a degree in business administration in 2011. After graduating, he decided to change universities for his final year of basketball.
A Year with the Oregon Ducks
In 2011, Ashaolu transferred to the University of Oregon. He was able to play for them right away because of a special rule for students who have already graduated. This is called the "graduate transfer rule." One reason he chose Oregon was to play with his friend and former teammate, Devoe Joseph.
At Oregon, he played an important role, often coming off the bench to help the team. He averaged 9.2 points and 5.2 rebounds per game with the Ducks.
A Worldwide Professional Journey
After college, Ashaolu was not chosen in the 2012 NBA draft. However, this was just the beginning of his adventure in professional basketball. He played for the Milwaukee Bucks in the 2012 Summer League, a tournament where new players can show their skills.

Ashaolu's pro career took him across the globe. His first official contract was with a team in Spain called Cáceres Ciudad del Baloncesto.
Later, he moved to Japan, where he found a lot of success. In 2015, he helped his team, the Hamamatsu Higashimikawa Phoenix, win the league championship. He continued to play for different teams in Japan for several years.
He also played in the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) for the NLEX Road Warriors. He became known for his toughness. In 2018, he played through a serious knee injury, showing great determination to help his team.
Returning to Canada

He joined the Canadian Elite Basketball League (CEBL), playing for teams like the Fraser Valley Bandits and the Niagara River Lions. In 2020, he was named to the All-CEBL Second Team, recognizing him as one of the league's top players.
