Discovering Omaka Aerodrome
This unique aerodrome is located about two nautical miles southwest of Blenheim, New Zealand. You can find it at the northern end of New Zealand's South Island. It's a busy place for aviation fans!
Home of Amazing Old Planes
Omaka Aerodrome is home to the Omaka Aviation Heritage Centre. This center opened in 2006. It's a fantastic museum where you can see many incredible old airplanes. These vintage aircraft are often restored to look just like they did years ago.
The Classic Fighters Airshow
One of the most exciting events at Omaka is the Classic Fighters airshow. This huge show happens every two years, usually on the Easter weekend in odd-numbered years. The first show was held in 2001.
Each Classic Fighters airshow has a different theme. Visitors can watch amazing displays, including exciting mock air battles. It's a great chance to see historic planes in action!
