Early Life and Career
From 1995 to 2006, Beriziky worked as Madagascar's Ambassador to the European Union and Belgium. An ambassador is a high-ranking diplomat who represents their country in another country or a group of countries. His job was to build good relationships and work on important issues between Madagascar and these places. He was also a member of the LEADER Fanilo political party.
Time as Prime Minister
On October 28, 2011, Jean Omer Beriziky was chosen to be the Prime Minister of Madagascar. He was suggested for this important role by the party of former President Albert Zafy. He officially started his job on November 2, 2011.
As Prime Minister, he was the head of the government, working with the president to lead the country. He served in this position until April 16, 2014. After elections in 2013, a new president, Hery Rajaonarimampianina, took office. President Rajaonarimampianina then chose Roger Kolo to become the new Prime Minister, taking over from Beriziky.
