About One Post Office Square
One Post Office Square is a huge skyscraper with 41 floors. It reaches 525 feet (160 meters) into the sky. This makes it the 12th tallest building in Boston. The building has over 830,000 square feet of "Class A" office space. This means it is a very high-quality office building.
The building also has an eight-level parking garage. This garage offers 368 parking spaces. You can go directly from the garage into the building's main lobby. The skyscraper looks out over Post Office Square Park. It was designed by a company called Jung Brannen Associates. Before this building was here, an older building stood on the site. That building was the headquarters for the Boston Elevated Railway until around 1919.
Building Design and Features
The outside of One Post Office Square has a modern look. It is a sculpted tower made with a strong steel frame. The outside is covered with a concrete material.
Inside the Building
The main entrance area, called the lobby, has three floors. It is decorated with beautiful Rosso Verona and travertine marble on the walls and floors. There are also shiny bronze details on signs, handrails, and window frames.
The building uses a smart system to control the heating and cooling (HVAC). This system helps save energy. It also makes sure everyone inside is comfortable.
Recent Updates
In 2018, the building started getting some big updates. These changes were made to improve the outside of the building. They also added more space inside. The renovation project was finished in 2021.
