A Tragic Accident

His car left the track at a curve called Breidscheid. This accident made him the first driver to die during a Formula One World Championship Grand Prix, not including the Indianapolis 500.
It is believed that his car's braking system might have failed. He was going very fast downhill and could not make a sharp turn. His car crashed into a ditch and rolled over. Rescue workers quickly tried to help him. A priest gave him the last rites, but he passed away shortly after.
