A Car with Many Names

The Antara is special because it was sold under different names in various parts of the world. This is called "badge engineering." It means the same car was given different badges (logos) and names.

• In the United States, it was known as the second generation Saturn Vue.
• In the United Kingdom, it was sold as a Vauxhall model. Vauxhall is another car brand that's also part of General Motors.
• In some places, like America, it was even sold as the Chevrolet Captiva Sport, mostly for businesses and fleets.

Its Journey Through Time

The Opel Antara first hit the roads in 2006. It took the place of an older Opel car called the Opel Frontera. The Frontera was actually a version of the Isuzu Rodeo SUV.

The Saturn Vue, which was the Antara's twin in the US, stopped being made when the Saturn car company closed down. The Chevrolet Captiva Sport also stopped production later on. The Antara itself was eventually replaced by newer models. There were even plans for a new version called the Opel Antara B, which would have been a rebadged Buick Envision.
