The Saturn Vue was a special kind of car. It was a compact crossover SUV. This means it was a bit like a car and a bit like a truck. It was made by a big car company called General Motors. The Vue was sold under their Saturn brand.
The Saturn company made the first Vue cars from 2002 to 2005. The Vue was the very first car from General Motors to use something called the "Theta platform." Think of a platform as the basic building blocks or frame for a car. This Theta platform became super important for many other SUVs around the world.
The Vue Changes!
In 2006, General Motors introduced a new version of the Vue. This time, it was built by a company called Opel. The new Vue was actually an Opel Antara car, but it was given some changes for the American market. It was like giving the Opel Antara a new name and a few tweaks to sell it as a Saturn Vue.
This second version of the Vue was sold from 2007 to 2009. After that, the Saturn brand stopped selling cars in 2010. But the Vue's story didn't end there!
The Vue Lives On
Even after the Saturn brand closed, General Motors brought the Vue back. They gave it a new name: the Chevrolet Captiva Sport. This car was mostly sold to companies and for business fleets, not usually to regular families.
In September 2014, General Motors announced they would stop making the Captiva Sport. Instead, they started selling a newer, smaller SUV called the Trax. For a while, the Vue was the only Saturn car that was brought back with a new name. Later, the body style of another Saturn car, the Outlook, was used for the GMC Acadia.
