Saturn was a car company in the United States. It was started by General Motors (GM) on January 7, 1985. Saturn cars were sold in the United States, Canada, and even in Japan. People knew Saturn for its "no-haggle" pricing, which meant the price you saw was the price you paid. In the past, many Saturn cars had special plastic body panels.
General Motors tried to sell the Saturn company. A company called Penske Automotive wanted to buy it, but then changed its mind. Because of this, Saturn Corporation closed down on October 31, 2010. This happened as part of General Motors' plan to become smaller after facing financial problems. Some parts of Saturn's cars were later used in other GM brands like Chevrolet and GMC.
