The Saturn Relay was a type of family car called a minivan. It was built by a big car company named General Motors (GM). The Relay was sold under GM's Saturn brand. This minivan was made from 2005 to 2007.
The Saturn Relay was special for a few reasons. It was the first and only minivan that the Saturn company ever made. It was also the only Saturn vehicle that was "badge engineered."
What is a Badge-Engineered Car?
A "badge-engineered" car means it's very similar to other cars from the same company. These cars share many parts and designs. But each car has a different brand name, or "badge," on it. The Saturn Relay was like this. It was very similar to other minivans made by General Motors. These included the Chevrolet Uplander and the Pontiac Montana.
Why Was the Saturn Relay Replaced?
The Saturn Relay did not sell as many cars as the company hoped. Because of this, General Motors decided to stop making it. The Relay was replaced by a different type of vehicle called the Saturn Outlook. This change happened in 2006, even though the Relay was still sold for a short time after.
