Orason is a small community in Cameron County, Texas. It is known as a census-designated place (CDP). This means it's a special area the government counts for population, but it's not an officially organized town. In 2010, about 129 people lived in Orason. By 2020, the population was 88. Orason is part of the larger Brownsville–Harlingen metropolitan area.

Location and Area
Orason is located in the middle of Cameron County. It is about 2 miles (3.2 km) east of Los Fresnos. It is also about 15 miles (24 km) north of downtown Brownsville. The community of Chula Vista is right next to Orason on its eastern side.
The United States Census Bureau says that Orason covers a total area of 0.85 square kilometers (0.33 square miles). All of this area is land.

Orason first appeared as its own census-designated place in the 2010 U.S. Census. Before that, it was part of a larger area called Chula Vista-Orason. That larger area was then split into two separate CDPs: Orason and Chula Vista.
