The Order of Constitutional Merit is a special award from Spain. It was created on November 18, 1988. This award honors people and groups who have done great things for the Spanish Constitution. The Constitution is the main set of rules for how Spain is governed.

What is the Order of Constitutional Merit?
This award is given to those who support the important ideas and rules of the Spanish Constitution. It can be given to individuals or groups. They can be from Spain or from other countries. When someone receives this award, they are treated with great respect. This means they are called an Excellency.
What Does the Award Look Like?
The award has a unique oval medal. It is made of real silver and covered in gold. On the front of the medal, you can see the coat of arms of Spain. This is on a blue background. Around it, the words Constitutional Merit are written.
The medal hangs from a silk ribbon. This ribbon is divided equally into red and yellow parts. There is also a special Medal of Constitutional Merit. It hangs from a twisted cord that is also red and yellow. For groups or organizations, they receive a special Plaque of Honor. This plaque shows the same design as the medal.
