This town is special because it's an exclave of Biscay. This means it's a piece of land that belongs to Biscay but is entirely surrounded by other regions. Specifically, it's surrounded by the Basque province of Álava and the province of Burgos in Castile and León.

Urduña/Orduña is found in a flat area. This plain is located in the highest part of the Nervión river valley. It sits right at the base of the impressive Sierra Salvada mountains.

The municipality also includes a tiny exclave called Cerca de Villaño. This small area is completely surrounded by the neighboring province of Burgos.

You can reach Orduña by train. It is the last stop on the commuter rail line C-3. This train line connects the town directly with the city of Bilbao.
