Early Life and Education

Orit Gadiesh was born in Haifa, Israel, on January 31, 1951. Her father, Falk Gadiesh, was a Colonel in the Israel Defense Forces (the Israeli army). Her mother, Pninah, was a nurse. When she was young, her family changed their last name to Gadiesh.

After finishing school, Orit served in the Israeli army. She worked in the office of a high-ranking officer named Ezer Weizman. Later, she went to the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. She earned a bachelor's degree in psychology in 1975.

Orit then continued her studies at Harvard Business School in the United States. She graduated in 1977 and was one of the top students in her class. She even won a special award for being the best marketing student.

Her Career at Bain & Company

In July 1993, Orit Gadiesh was chosen to be the Chairman of Bain & Company. This company is a "management consulting firm." This means they give advice to other companies to help them solve problems and grow. Orit has been leading Bain & Company for over 30 years, which is a very long time!
