The Journey of Osage Creek
Where Osage Creek Begins
Osage Creek starts its journey in the northern part of Newton County. This starting point is called the headwaters. It's like the very beginning of the creek. The land here is quite high, about 2,250 feet above sea level.
Flowing Through Counties
From its source, Osage Creek first flows towards the east. Then, it turns north, passing near the town of Compton. It travels alongside Arkansas Highway 43 as it enters the southwest part of Boone County.
The creek then turns northwest and enters Carroll County. It continues its journey, flowing past small communities like Delmar and Osage. Along the way, it flows under Arkansas Highway 68. Further on, it crosses under Arkansas Highway 103, between the areas of Conner and Rule.
Joining the Kings River
Osage Creek keeps flowing northwest. It passes under Arkansas Highway 21 and Arkansas Highway 221 just south of Berryville. Finally, about five miles west of Berryville, Osage Creek meets and flows into the Kings River. This meeting point is called the confluence. At this spot, the elevation is about 997 feet above sea level.
