Early Days
Osborn grew up along the Kansas City Southern Railway, which was an important train line. In the year 1900, Osborn had a population of 100 people. A local post office served the community under the name Osborn for many years. It operated from 1884 until 1949, helping people send and receive mail.

In 1960, a significant event happened in Osborn. Seven African American men from Little Rock used a restroom at a local gas station. At that time, many places had unfair rules that separated people based on their race. This particular restroom was only for white people.
