Oscar Alfredo Ustari, born on July 3, 1986, is a professional football player from Argentina. He is a talented goalkeeper who currently plays for Major League Soccer club Inter Miami.

Oscar started his career at Independiente in Argentina. He then played for many years in Spain, mostly with Getafe. He also played for several teams in Mexico's top league, Liga MX.

Ustari has also played for his country, Argentina. He was part of the team for the 2006 World Cup. He also won a gold medal with Argentina at the Summer Olympics in 2008.

Playing for Clubs

Oscar Ustari was born in América, a town in Buenos Aires Province. He joined the youth team of Independiente when he was 14 years old. He quickly moved up to the main team.

He made his debut in Argentina's top league, the Primera División, on October 5, 2005. Independiente won that game 2–0 against Newell's Old Boys. Oscar became the main goalkeeper for the team.

On June 10, 2007, Ustari scored a goal from a penalty kick against Quilmes. He also got injured in that game and missed the Copa América tournament that year.

A month later, he moved to Spain to play for Getafe. He joined for about €4 million. His first game for Getafe was on September 26, 2007, in a 2–1 loss to Valencia. He helped Getafe reach the final of the Copa del Rey in 2008, where they lost to Valencia.

Oscar had some tough times in Madrid because of injuries. On July 17, 2012, after being out for over a year due to injury, he left Getafe.

On July 25, 2012, Ustari went back to Argentina and joined Boca Juniors. He returned to Spain a year later to play for Almería.

On January 21, 2014, Ustari left Almería and signed a six-month contract with Sunderland in England. He played his first game for Sunderland on January 25, keeping a clean sheet (meaning he didn't let any goals in) in a 1–0 win against Kidderminster Harriers in the FA Cup. He was also on the bench when Sunderland lost the League Cup final to Manchester City.

On July 6, 2014, Ustari went back to Argentina again to play for Newell's Old Boys. On December 16, 2015, he moved to Mexico to play for Atlas in the Liga MX. On November 2, 2017, he suffered a knee injury during a game for Atlas.

In July 2019, Ustari moved to Uruguay to play for Liverpool Montevideo. After that, he played for Pachuca in Mexico, Audax Italiano in Chile, and now Major League Soccer's Inter Miami.

Playing for Argentina

Oscar Ustari played for the Argentina under-20 team and helped them win the 2005 FIFA World Youth Championship. On May 15, 2006, he was chosen to be part of the senior team for the 2006 FIFA World Cup, though he didn't play in any games.

Ustari earned his first full cap (played his first game) for the senior team on August 22, 2007, in a friendly match against Norway. He also started for the under-23 team at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing. However, he got a foot injury during a quarter-final game against the Netherlands.

Personal Life

Oscar Ustari's father-in-law, Ricardo Giusti, was also a famous football player. He played for Independiente, Newell's, and Argentina, just like Oscar.
