Erifasi Otema Allimadi (born February 11, 1929 – died August 5, 2001) was an important politician from Uganda. He held two very big jobs in his country. First, he was the Foreign Minister from 1979 to 1980. This means he was in charge of Uganda's relationships with other countries. Later, he became the third Prime Minister of Uganda, serving from 1980 to 1985. The Prime Minister is like a chief helper to the president, leading the government's daily work.

After a big change in the government, he had to leave Uganda for a while. But he later came back to his home country.

Early Life and Political Career

Otema Allimadi was born in a place called Kitgum in the Northern Region of Uganda. He grew up to become a key figure in Ugandan politics.

In 1979, he started his work as the Minister of Foreign Affairs. He served in this role under President Godfrey Binaisa. His job was to make sure Uganda had good connections with countries around the world.

Becoming Prime Minister

After some changes in leadership, a new president, Milton Obote, was elected. On December 18, 1980, President Obote chose Otema Allimadi to be the new Prime Minister. This was a very important role, as he helped lead the country's government. He stayed in this job for almost five years.

His time as Prime Minister ended on July 27, 1985. This happened when Lieutenant General Bazilio Olara-Okello took over the government.

Life After Office

After leaving his role as Prime Minister, Otema Allimadi went to live in London, England. While he was there, he led a group called the Uganda People's Democratic Movement. This group worked to bring about political changes in Uganda.

In January 1992, Otema Allimadi returned to Uganda. He had many children, 17 in total. One of his daughters, Barbara Allimadi, also became well-known. She was an activist who worked with a group called the Alliance for National Transformation, trying to make positive changes in Uganda.
