A Look Back: Church History
This church first opened its doors in September 1829. It was originally named after St. Mary. In 1851, it closed for a short time. This happened after the Church of St. Joseph opened.
The church reopened in 1860. At that time, French religious groups took care of it. They dedicated the church to Our Lady of the Rosary. The building was later repaired and updated between 1961 and 1962.
