Overbrook received its name from a train station. This station was located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. It was called "Overbrook station." This station was the first stop west of Philadelphia on a famous train line. This line was known as the "Main Line" of the Pennsylvania Railroad.
The Santa Fe Railway named many communities in Oklahoma this way. They named them after stops on the Pennsylvania Railroad's Main Line. This helped create a connection between these new towns and the well-known train routes. Today, the Santa Fe Railway's line is part of the BNSF Railway.
