All About Oxxxymiron's Life
Miron Yanovich Fyodorov was born in 1985 in a city then called Leningrad. His family was of Russian-Jewish background. His father was a scientist who studied physics. His mother worked as a librarian. Miron went to school in St. Petersburg.
Moving to New Countries
When Miron was 9 years old, his family moved to Essen, Germany. He found it a bit hard to get along with his classmates there. This was because of his social background and his German language skills. When he was 13, Miron started writing rap songs. He rapped in both German and Russian. He used the name MC Mif back then.
At 15, his family moved again, this time to Slough, England. In 2004, Miron started studying at the University of Oxford. He studied English literature there. He even became the president of the Russian community at Oxford. In 2006, he had to take a break from his studies due to a health challenge. But he was able to go back and finish his degree. He graduated in June 2008.
Starting His Music Career
After university, Miron moved to the East End of London. He decided to restart his music career. He chose the name Oxxxymiron. This name comes from his first name, Miron. It also includes "oxymoron," which is a type of figure of speech. The "triple X" part shows that his lyrics sometimes use strong language.
It was hard for him to find a job at first. He felt he was "overqualified," meaning he had too much education for the jobs he could find. So, he worked many different jobs. He was a cashier, a translator, and even a tour guide. His life in London later inspired a Russian TV show called Londongrad.
