Her Musical Journey

It was around this time, in 1982-1983, that she wrote her first songs. Her very first song was called "With You I'm Full, Without You an Empty Shell." It was a waltz, and she wrote both the words and the music for it. She later learned about Turkish Art Music from the composer Sadi Hoşses. After 1996, she studied for a long time with Yılmaz Pakalınlar, who played the tanbur (a stringed instrument).
Köksal played the lute, another stringed instrument. She wrote about 120 musical pieces. A large number of her works, 74 of them, are part of the official collection of songs used by TRT (Turkish Radio and Television Corporation). You can also hear her works on radio and television.
In the year 2000, she released an album called "İçimdeki Duygular." This album featured her works performed by artists from TRT and the Ministry of Culture.
Her Turkish art music pieces were the first to be performed with many different voices at once. This happened on December 16, 2003. The Orfeon Chamber Chorus, along with singers Leyla Çolakoğlu, Hakan Aysev, and Deva Çolakoğlu, performed her music. Her songs were also used in a musical show called Cabaret Opera. This show was put on by the State Opera and Ballet Company in 2004-2005. Symphony orchestras have also performed her works.
