Pablo Prigioni (born May 17, 1977) is a former professional basketball player from Argentina and Italy. He is now an assistant coach for the Minnesota Timberwolves. Pablo played as a point guard. He was part of the Argentina national basketball team that won a bronze medal at the 2008 Summer Olympics. Pablo made history as the oldest rookie in NBA history. He joined the New York Knicks in 2012 when he was 35 years old! Before playing in the NBA, he was a star player in Europe, especially in Spain. He played four seasons in the NBA before he started coaching in 2017.

Playing Career Highlights
Early Years in Argentina (1995–1999)
Pablo Prigioni started his professional basketball journey in Argentina. He played for Ramallo from 1995 to 1996. Then, he moved to Belgrano San Nicolás and played there until 1998. After that, he joined Obras Sanitarias for one season, ending in 1999.
Playing in Spain (1999–2012)
In 1999, Pablo moved to Spain to play for Fuenlabrada. He stayed with them until 2001. Next, he joined Lucentum Alicante from 2001 to 2003.
His time with Baskonia was very successful. He joined them in 2003 and played until 2009. With Baskonia, he won many important titles. These included three Spanish King's Cups (in 2004, 2006, 2009) and four Spanish Supercups (from 2005 to 2008). He also helped them win the Spanish League championship in 2008.
In 2009, Pablo played for Real Madrid for two seasons. He then returned to Baskonia in 2011 for another year.
NBA Adventure (2012–2016)
On July 24, 2012, Pablo Prigioni signed with the New York Knicks. He was 35 years old, making him the oldest rookie ever in the NBA! He played his first NBA game on November 2, 2012.
During the 2012–13 season, he became the starting point guard for the Knicks. He helped them reach the second round of the playoffs for the first time in 13 years. In one playoff game against the Boston Celtics, he made three three-pointers in the first quarter.
In February 2015, Pablo was traded to the Houston Rockets. He played for them briefly. Later, in August 2015, he signed with the Los Angeles Clippers. On January 13, 2016, he had an amazing game against the Miami Heat, getting eight steals! This was almost the team record.
Retirement from Playing (2016–2017)
Pablo returned to Baskonia in December 2016 for a third time. He officially retired from playing professional basketball on January 9, 2017. During his career, he played 10 seasons in the EuroLeague and four seasons in the NBA.
After he retired, Baskonia honored him by retiring his jersey number 5. This means no other player on the team will wear that number.
Coaching Career
First Coaching Role (2017)
Pablo Prigioni started his coaching career with Baskonia on June 16, 2017. He became their new head coach. However, he stepped down from the role on October 26, 2017.
Assistant Coach in the NBA (2018–Present)
On April 24, 2018, Pablo joined the Brooklyn Nets as an assistant coach. He helped the Nets reach the NBA playoffs in the 2018–19 season. This was their first playoff appearance since 2015.
On June 25, 2019, he became an assistant coach for the Minnesota Timberwolves. He coached the team in the 2019 Las Vegas Summer League. He was also put in charge of the team's offense for the next season.
Coaching Argentina's National Team (2022–Present)
On September 1, 2022, Pablo Prigioni became the head coach of the Argentina men's national basketball team.
