Paint Rock is a small town in Concho County, Texas, United States. It is also the county seat, which means it's where the local government offices are. In 2020, about 237 people lived there.
The town got its name from amazing ancient drawings called pictographs. These pictures were painted by Native Americans on cliffs near the Concho River. You can see these drawings for almost half a mile along the river!
The pictographs show animals, people, and handprints. Some of them were made by the Comanche people. They likely used the bluff as a camping spot long ago. Today, these special drawings are on a private ranch owned by the Campbell family. They protect the art and even offer tours for visitors to see them.
