They perform concerts all over India and in other countries. These shows raise money for children who need heart surgery. Palak has sung many popular songs. Some of her famous songs are from movies like Aashiqui 2 (2013) and M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story (2016). In 2022, she married music composer Mithoon.

Palak Muchhal was born in Indore, India. Her birthday is March 30, 1992. Her mother, Amita Muchhal, is a homemaker. Her father, Rajkumar Muchhal, works for a private company. Palak also has a younger brother named Palash Muchhal. She went to Queens College in Indore for her schooling. In 2013, she was studying for her Bachelor of Commerce degree.

Palak's Charity Work

Early Efforts (1997–2000)

Palak started singing at a very young age. When she was four, she joined a group of young singers. It was called Kalyanji-Anandji Little Star.

In 1999, when she was seven, a war happened. It was called the Kargil War. Palak sang at shops in her hometown. She raised money for the families of soldiers who had died. Her efforts were noticed by the media. She collected about 25,000 Indian Rupees (around US$810). Later that year, she sang to help people affected by a big storm.

Palak decided to use her voice to help others. This idea came to her when she saw poor children. They were using their clothes to clean train cars. Around the same time, teachers from a school in Indore asked Palak for help. They wanted to raise money for a student named Lokesh. He needed heart surgery. His family could not afford the high cost.

In March 2000, Palak agreed to help. She used a street vendor's cart as her stage. She collected 51,000 Indian Rupees (around US$1,600). This money was for Lokesh's surgery. Because of the news coverage, a heart doctor offered to operate on Lokesh for free. Palak's parents then put ads in newspapers. They asked for donations for other children needing heart surgery. Soon, they had a list of 33 children.

More charity shows were held that year. They raised 225,000 Indian Rupees (around US$7,200). This money helped five children get heart surgery. A hospital in Indore, T. Choithram Hospital, helped too. They cut the cost of surgery in half. One of their surgeons also decided not to charge his fee. This made it easier for Palak to help more children.

Continuing the Mission (2001–2010)

Since 2000, Palak has traveled a lot. She performs her charity shows in India and other countries. Her shows are called "Dil Se Dil Tak" (From heart to heart) in Hindi. In English, they are called "Save Little Hearts." Her younger brother, Palash, also performs. He raises money for children with kidney problems.

Palak usually sings about 40 songs at each show. These include popular Bollywood songs, Ghazals, and Bhajans. She can sing in 17 different languages! These include Hindi, Bengali, Tamil, and Malayalam.

In 2001, Palak raised about one million rupees. This was for people affected by a big earthquake in Gujarat. In 2003, she helped a two-year-old Pakistani girl. The girl had a hole in her heart. Palak's charity is called "Palak Muchhal Heart Foundation." By March 2006, this foundation had helped 200 children get heart surgery. By the end of 2006, she had raised 1.2 crore rupees. This money saved the lives of 234 children.

To make sure operations don't stop, a hospital in Indore helps. They allow the foundation to use up to one million rupees even if they don't have it yet. In 2006, Palak's story was featured on a TV channel. By June 2009, she had done 1,460 charity shows. These shows raised 1.71 crore rupees. These funds helped save 338 children.

Doctors sometimes let Palak be in the operating room. She even has her own special surgical gown. When an operation happens, she quietly chants a prayer. Palak and her parents do not take any money from the charity shows. But Palak gets a doll for every child she helps save.

Palak's Bollywood Career

Before becoming an adult, Palak released six music albums. Her first album, "Child For Children," came out in 2001. In 2003, her second album, Palken, was released. She released other albums later, like Aao Tumhe Chand Per Le Jaaye.

In late 2006, Palak moved to Mumbai. She wanted to find more singing opportunities in Bollywood. Her first Bollywood song was for the movie Damadamm! in 2011. She got good reviews for it. A month later, she sang "Pyaar Ke Silsile."

Actor Salman Khan knew Palak. He suggested her name to music directors. Because of this, Palak sang "Laapata" with KK. This song was in the 2012 hit movie Ek Tha Tiger. The song was very popular. It helped her become well-known in Bollywood.
